PowerPoint Flips Turn-key solution for creating on-line lectures

Summary
The following is an example SMIL file that calls the jpeg images saved from Powerpoint.   Note, since this is a PHP file, the content type must be set to "application/smil"  With this, you won't need the rmevents program to embed the flips into the "*.rm" file.  Also note teh target is "mainFrame" which allows for placing the video in one frame and the flips in another.

<?php
// We'll be outputting a SMIL file
// File name is SMIL.php
header("Content-type: application/smil"); ?> <smil xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/SMIL20/Language" xmlns:rn="http://features.real.com/2001/SMIL20/Extensions" > <body> <par> <video src="rtsp://media.server.edu/lecture.rm" > <area href="http://www.yourserver.edu/lecturefile/Slide1.JPG" begin="0s" external="true" rn:sendTo="_rpbrowser" target="mainFrame" actuate="onLoad" sourcePlaystate="play"/> <area href="http://www.yourserver.edu/lecturefile/Slide2.JPG" begin="00:00:52.0" external="true" rn:sendTo="_rpbrowser" target="mainFrame" actuate="onLoad" sourcePlaystate="play"/> <area href="http://www.yourserver.edu/lecturefile/Slide3.JPG" begin="00:02:41.0" external="true" rn:sendTo="_rpbrowser" target="mainFrame" actuate="onLoad" sourcePlaystate="play"/> <area href="http://www.yourserver.edu/lecturefile/Slide4.JPG" begin="00:03:20.0" external="true" rn:sendTo="_rpbrowser" target="mainFrame" actuate="onLoad" sourcePlaystate="play"/> <area href="http://www.yourserver.edu/lecturefile/Slide5.JPG" begin="00:04:49.0" external="true" rn:sendTo="_rpbrowser" target="mainFrame" actuate="onLoad" sourcePlaystate="play"/> <area href="http://www.yourserver.edu/lecturefile/Slide6.JPG" begin="00:06:11.0" external="true" rn:sendTo="_rpbrowser" target="mainFrame" actuate="onLoad" sourcePlaystate="play"/> </video> </par> </body> </smil>
